Robert "Bobby" Everett Bain, 69 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, Vernon, Texas.

Services will be held Tuesday February 6, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Wilbarger County Event Center with Justin Melugin officiating.

Bobby was born Friday, July 23, 1954 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Harned and Peggy Harris Bain. He attended school in Chattanooga until the family moved from the farm to Lawton, OK. in 1969. Bobby graduated from Lawton High School in 1972 where he was the FFA President and a member of the Key Club, Interact Club and Student Council. After high school, Bobby worked for Gene Burk Auto Glass in Lawton.

In 1977, Bobby moved to Vernon and married Darla Jean Burket on December 17, 1977. Bobby worked for the North Texas State Hospital for many years. He later worked at the Wilbarger County Event Center.

Bobby loved all animals, but especially horses. He bought his first horse "Stormy" at the age of 15. Bobby loved outdoors and working and training horses. He enjoyed Barrel Racing and traveled across Texas and Oklahoma competing in mounted shooting competitions with his beloved horse Bodie.

Bobby is survived by his wife Darla of the home. One daughter Ashley Lehman (and husband Chris and granddaughter Presley) of Vernon, Texas One son, Bryan Bain (and girlfriend Stacey Darland) of Wichita Falls, TX, One brother Donnie Bain (and wife, April) of Lawton, OK. and one sister Vicki Riley of Yukon, OK. and several nieces and nephews.

Bobby is preceded in death by his father Harned Bain, mother Peggy Bain, sister Mary Margaret Matheson and sister-in-law Glenda Upton.
