Robert E. "Rob" Brown, Jr., 65 of Childress, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, in Childress, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 11:00 am at First Christian Church in Quanah, Texas with Pastor Randy Wilson and Mr. Jim Waldo officiating.

Rob was born Friday, May 29, 1959, in Greeley, Colorado. He was the son of Robert "Bob" Brown, Sr. and the late Janiece Stinson Brown. He married Jolynda McGee on August 25, 2000, in Childress, Texas. Starting at the age of ten, Rob worked as a rancher for Medicine Mound Ranch which his family owned and operated for thirty years until the ranch sold in 1994. He then worked for twenty-six years at the T.L. Roach Unit for the Texas Department of Corrections as a Maintenance Supervisor from which he retired in 2017. Rob was always willing to help anyone. He would have even given you his shirt off of his back. He loved all animals, and he was a member of First Christian Church of Quanah, Texas

Rob is survived by his wife, Jolynda Brown of the home; two daughters, Trudy Mills and Tesa Mills both of Dallas, Texas; father, Bob Brown & stepmother, Sue of Pottsboro, Texas; one brother, Monte Brown of Denison, Texas, and one stepbrother, Kenneth Weise of Abilene, Texas. Rob also leaves behind one niece, four great nieces, four great nephews, and two great-great nephews.

Rob is preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Waldo, brother-in-law, Loy Waldo, and nephew, Brian Waldo.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home in Vernon, Texas.

Memorials may be given to CRMC Hospice, Medicine Mound Museum, Quanah 4-H, New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico.
