Robert E. "Bob" Brown passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Pottsboro, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sullivan Funeral Home with Dr. Derrell Monday officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Vernon, Texas.

Bob was born November 4, 1932, to Eugene Edward Brown and Hazel Shoemaker Brown in New Orleans, Louisiana. When he was two years old, the family moved to Denver, Colorado.

Bob grew up near Denver, Colorado, working on his parents' 70 Ranch. He attended Culver Military Academy, Indiana. In his youth, he rodeoed—rode bulls, calf roped, and team roped.

In 1953 he entered the US Army during the Korean conflict, returning in 1955 to run the 70 Ranch. He raised Angus and Brangus cattle and quarter horses, as well as working in farming and ranching.

In 1964 he sold the ranch and moved to Texas, where he bought the Medicine Mound Ranch near Quanah. There, he continued raising Brangus cattle and quarter houses and started a herd of limousine cattle.

Bob was an avid sportsman and enjoyed bird hunting and fishing. In 1994, he sold the Medicine Mound Ranch, and he and his wife Sue retired to Lake Texoma. They enjoyed boating and fishing on the lake, and entertaining friends and family at their home.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Edward Brown and Hazel Shoemaker Brown of Denver, Colorado, his sister Jean Dennis of Las Vegas, his daughter, Cindy Brown Waldo of Quanah, son-in-law Loy Waldo of Quanah, Texas, grandson Brian Waldo of Quanah, Texas, and son Rob E. Brown, Jr of Childress, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Graninger Brown of the home, his son, Monte C. Brown of Denison, Texas, and stepson, Kenneth Wise of Abilene, Texas. Robert also leaves behind grandchildren, great grandchildren and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to the Grayson County Food Bank, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
