Obituary

Ronald Edward Rodgers, 83 of Kemp, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in Kemp, Texas.

Ron was born Monday, March 31, 1941, in Vernon, Texas. He was the son of the late G. W. "Jack" Rodgers and the late Wilma Burdette Rodgers.  He married Sandra (Sandi) Kay Rodgers on March 30, 1968, in Vernon, Texas at Calvary Baptist Church. Ron graduated from Vernon High School in 1959, attended Texas Tech University that fall, and began working for Litton Industries in 1960. After marrying the love of his life, Sandi, they began their future in Arlington where Ron worked for LTV two years while also completing his college education, earning his undergraduate degree from North Texas State University in 1970. Shortly after, Ron began a 2 year career as a bank examiner while also earning his Masters in Banking at Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU (SWGSB) in 1973.  Over the course of the next 35 years, Ron would be Vice President of two banks and President of five.  He retired in 2008 and settled with Sandi at Cedar Creek Country Club where he lived until his passing. Ron also served six years in the Army National Guard for the State of Texas earning the level of Second Lieutenant-Field Artillery. Ron's loves were golf, fishing, and being an avid Texas Tech, Landry's Cowboys, and Texas Rangers fan.

Ron is survived by his wife, Sandi Rodgers of Kemp, Texas and his three sons, Scott Williamson of Leander, Texas, Keenon Rodgers of Buda, Texas, and Steve Rodgers of Kemp, Texas; two grandchildren, Taylor Rodgers of San Antonio, Texas, and Garrett Rodgers of Lubbock, Texas; one great granddaughter, Maeve Ann, of Lubbock, Texas.

Ron is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Goodrum and his brother, Don Rodgers.

Visitation will be at Sullivan Funeral Home, Vernon, Texas, Friday, March 28, 2025, at 1:00 pm, followed by the service at 2:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Ron requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
