Ronnie Gonzales, 61 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel.

Ronnie was born Monday, October 26, 1964, in Portales, New Mexico. He was the son of Jimmy Gonzales and Tina Jaramillo Gonzales.

Known by many as a talented drummer, Ronnie didn't need a drum set to make music; his family fondly remembers that he was always tapping on something—a kitchen table, a steering wheel, or his own knees. His passion for music was matched only by his love for cooking, and he was happiest when the kitchen was full of good food and loud melodies. To his children and friends, he was the ultimate source of joy. He had a rare gift for silliness, often breaking the tension with a funny voice or a well-timed ridiculous face. Yet, beneath the humor was a pillar of incredible strength. He was a master listener and a seeker of wisdom, always ready with a "shoulder to cry on" and advice that seemed to make sense of the world's hardest moments. He was the person everyone could count on, no matter the hour.

Ronnie is survived by two sons, Jacob Aguilar and Desmond Gonzales, and five daughters, Rashel Gonzales, Samantha Hernandez, Tiffany Sherwood, Megan Gifford, and Zayda Sherwood and two sisters, Debbie Dunn and Heather Oborny. Ronnie also leaves behind several grand children.
