Ronnie  Simmons, 87 formally of Vernon, Texas died on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in Crowell, Texas.

Graveside service will be Friday, January 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with Rev. Irl Holt officiating.

Ronnie born Thursday, August 9, 1934 in Vernon, Texas, he was the son of the late Onie Simmons and the late Eva Auston  Simmons. He married Shirley Barnes on June 20, 1953, she preceded him in death February 9, 2006. He was a farmer and rancher. He was on the Oklaunion School Board and he delivered for Meals on Wheels. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Ronnie is survived by his son, Russell Simmons of Dallas, TX, two daughters, Rhonda Hammonds and husband Rick of Vernon, TX and Marsha Anderson and husband Wayne of Wichita Falls, TX; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a grandson Heath Hammonds.
