Sanders Lee Walker, 78 of Vernon, Texas died on Friday, November 12, 2021, in Vernon, Texas.

Services will be Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church Interment will be held at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Sanders was born Tuesday, July 27, 1943 in Wilbarger County, Texas, he was the son of the late Sanders Mitchell Walker and the late Eddie Ladd  Walker. He married Evelyn Hawkins. He retired from Vernon State Hospital he was a Spec. III Unit Overseeer for over twenty years.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn Walker of the home, son, Scott Walker of Vernon, TX, daughter, Rocqell Walker of Vernon, TX, brothers, Jimmy Bowerman of Richmond, TX and Gary Bowerman of Victoria, TX; 3 grandchildren; Jeffery, Shawn, and Kristi, 2 great grand Valencia,and Aviania.

He is preceded in death by a grandchild Alaina Nichole Walker.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
