Sarah Ann Adams, 81 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Sarah was born Wednesday, May 13, 1942, in Vernon, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Waymon Thomas Brandon and the late Mildred Christeen Scroggins Brandon. She married Raymond Adams on August 22, 1958 in Vernon, Texas. She worked at Montgomery Wards, Sullivan Funeral Home, Brints Bookkeeping, American National, and Home Health Agency. She was the first female security officer at the Vernon State Hospital. Sarah enrolled in the nursing program at Vernon Regional Junior College while in her fifties and graduated in the top of her class. She then began her career as a nurse at Crowell Nursing Home, Throckmorton Hospital, and Chillicothe Hospital. She loved going to the casino, and fishing at Lake Kemp. She was a Lutheran.

Sarah is surviving by her husband, Raymond Adams of the home; three children, Ann Owen & husband Damon of Frederick, Oklahoma, Joe Waymon Adams of Vernon, Texas, and Betha Rutledge & husband Curt of Oklaunion, Texas, and seven grandchildren, Michael Goins, Joe Daniel Adams, Kye Johnson, Kale Adams, Curt Lee Rutledge, Hannah Rutledge, and Nicholas Rutledge. Sarah also leaves behind fifteen great grandchildren and numerous cousins.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Waymon & Mildred Brandon; daughter-in-law, Robin Adams, and two grandsons, Russell Rutledge and Keith Goins.
