Stanley "DJ Stan Stan" Gaines passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with Rev. Quinton Porter officiating and Rev. Dale Donnell with the eulogy.

Stanley was born on May 5, 1964, to the late Linzy and Loraine Gaines in Vernon, Texas. He went to Vernon Schools and later graduated from Vernon High School in 1982. He worked at JCPenney's in Vernon for numerous years, he then went to work at the Vernon State Hospital for over twenty years. Stanley married Debra Lewis in 2006 in Vernon, Texas. They moved to Gainesville, Texas in 2010 where he worked at Safran Seats/Zodiac Seats for ten years where he later retired.

Stanley was known for always DJ'ing, bar-b-queing, dancing, enjoying family time, traveling, and he enjoyed picking up metal as they called him Stan the Scrap man, Big Pappa, Pokey Bear, Sonny Gaines, and DJ Stan Stan. His favorite NFL football team was the San Francisco 49ers. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Debra Lewis of Wichita Falls, Texas, daughters Kayla McIntyre (Ray) of Wichita Falls, Texas, Kierra Gaines of Crowley, Texas, Kieron Gaines of Fort Worth, Texas, Tianiqua Lewis of Wichita Falls, Texas, Tianna Lewis of Vernon, Texas, Jazzman Lewis of Dallas, Texas, Sidnetra Lewis of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Sidney Lewis of Dallas, Texas, and fourteen grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his siblings, Bonnie Gaines (Mary) of Vernon, Texas, Wendell Gaines (Myra) of Frederick, Oklahoma, Lawrence Gaines (Judi) of Southfield, Michigan, Patricia Gaines of Vernon, Texas, Richard Gaines of Vernon, Texas, Sherry Gaines of Vernon, Texas, Nancy Gaines of San Antonio, Texas, Beverly Bryant of Wichita Falls, Texas, Phillip Gaines of Vernon, Texas, Alfred Gaines of Vernon, Texas, Don Gaines of Rockport, Texas, and Randy Gaines of Vernon, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and classmates. An uncle and aunt Bennie Lee Gaines and Glenda Gaines of Plano, Texas.

A special "Thank You" to a special friend, Natishue Roe of Springhill, Louisiana.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents Linzy and Loraine Gaines, a nephew, Terrance Gaines, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel.
