Teodoro "Ted" Tariga Tolentino, 87 of Vernon, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.

Mass services will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, at 10:00 am at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church with Father Phil Petta officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Ted was born Sunday, July 12, 1936, in Nueva Ecija, Philippines. He was the son of the late Alvaro Tolentino and the late Maria Tariga Tolentino. He married Teresita Lopez on December 20, 1964, in Adorable San Leonandro, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. He attended Bongabon High School in Nueva Ecija, Philippines. Ted grew up during the American Liberation of WWII. He attended University of the East, Manila Philippines, studying Liberal Arts and Pre-Law. He met his future wife, Teresita, while she was teaching High School Economics in Bongabon, and they married less than a year later. They were married for fifty-seven years until her passing in January of 2022. Ted owned Teodoro Tolentino Bonded Warehouse domestically trading in local goods for approximately twenty years before moving to Vernon, Texas. He worked in the Security Department at Vernon State Hospital for twenty-three years. He was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church.

Ted is survived by one son, Jay Tolentino & friend Genevive of Vernon, Texas; one daughter, Joy Ferrell & husband Jory of Apache, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Alexa Ferrell and Jake Ferrell; one brother, Dr. Reynaldo Tolentino & wife Cindy of Vernon, Texas, and two sisters, Linda Boyea of Tucson, Arizona, and Daisy Canivel & husband Nick of Wichita Falls, Texas. Ted also leaves behind four grandchildren in the Philippines, Ryan, Loverly, Kenneth, and Kevin, and also numerous nieces and nephews.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents, Alvaro & Maria Tolentino; his wife Teresita Tolentino; son, Oliver Tolentino on September 15, 2021, and sister, Nieva "Nona" Rubiano on March 13, 2023.

A rosary will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 6:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel followed by a visitation.
