Thomas "Mack"
Tole
Dec 19, 1942 — Mar 22, 2025
Thomas Mack Tole, 82, of Chillicothe, TX, passed away on March 22, 2025, after a brief illness. He was a faithful husband, beloved father, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He wanted nothing more than to get well and be back home, but he was also at peace in knowing his home was in Heaven.
Mack was born December 19, 1942, in Thalia, the son of Emma Lee Haynes Tole and James Earnest Tole.
Mack graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1961, attended West Texas State University, and then joined the United States Army to proudly serve our country.
Mack married Gloria Beth Stephens on March 27, 1965, at First Baptist Church Chillicothe. They would have celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage this month.
Mack worked many years in the automotive parts industry in Vernon, TX. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, humor, and passion for helping others. In his free time, Mack enjoyed farming which brought him much joy working with his hands, growing crops, and taking care of animals.
Mack was a member of First Baptist Church Chillicothe where he had a huge servant's heart. He was an active deacon, church treasurer and trustee, and served on the personnel committee, safety committee, kitchen crew, youth council, and church council, along with all other activities that took place. If the church doors were open, you were sure to find Mack and Gloria there serving others together.
Mack was a devoted family man who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren above all else. He was a beloved husband to Gloria Beth Tole; a devoted father to Stephanie Lynn Carroll with husband Bret Carroll and Jason Mack Tole with wife Cherise Tole; and proud grandfather to Cade Thomas Carroll, Mackenzie Reece Tole, and Heston Mack Tole. Mack and Gloria loved being at their grandchildren's events, cheering them on, and giving words of encouragement. We are thankful for the legacy that Mack has instilled in our family that will continue for many generations to come.
Remaining to cherish Mack's memory are brother, James Tole, Jr. of Duncan, OK; sisters, Louise Allen of Seminole, TX, and Patsy Ward of Vernon, TX, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and community members.
Preceding Mack in death are parents, Emma Lee Haynes Tole and James Earnest Tole.
Visitation will be held March 25 from 5:00-6:30 pm at Smith Chapel in Chillicothe. Funeral services will be held March 26 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church Chillicothe. Interment will follow at the Chillicothe Cemetery.
Mack invested much time with the youth in Chillicothe whether it was going to events at the school and around town or helping with Wednesday night church activities. He always wanted to make sure the children in his community were supported and shown love. Therefore, memorial donations in Mack's memory may be directed to First Baptist Church Chillicothe, 401 Avenue I, PO Box 367 Chillicothe, TX 79225 Attn: Youth Camp Ministry
