Thomas John "Tom" Spencer, Jr., 72 of Vernon, Texas died on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

Services will be Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 11:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Tommy Spencer, Rev. Toby Castleberry, and Melvin Lee Clay

Tom was born Friday, September 23, 1949 in Jacksboro, Texas. He was the son of the late Thomas John Spencer, Sr. and the late Inal O'Rene Clay  Spencer. He married Nancy Lewis on December 28, 1990 in Vernon, Texas. He worked for FHA Office County Supervisor for Foard, Hardeman, Baylor, Wichita and Wilbarger Counties. He retired in 1995, he was also a local pecan harvester, rancher and farmer in Jack & Foard counties. He loved going to the Sell Barn and he loved gardening. Tom was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and he enjoyed serving at the church where ever he could.

Tom is survived by his wife Nancy Spencer of the home. two sons, Thomas John "Tommy"  Spencer, III and wife Lana of Amarillo, TX and Robby Spencer and wife Michelle of Vernon, TX, two step-sons Gerald Frank and wife Amy of Lockett, TX., and Wendell Frank of Lockett, TX. brother, Andy Spencer and wife Evelyn of Hillsboro, TX; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Nelda Cox.

Visitation will be Monday, August 15, 2022 at 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
