VeNita Carol Ray, 81 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023,  in Vernon, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday January 10, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Eastview Cemetery with Dennis Huffaker officiating under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

VeNita was born Tuesday, December 2, 1941 in Vernon, TX., to the late LeRoy Perkins and the late Clara Lee Langdon Perkins. VeNita married Bobby Neal Ray on March 15, 1979 in Turkey, TX. Bobby passed away on February 14, 2003. VeNita loved to sew and make children's clothing. When she wasn't sewing you would find her cooking or gardening. She loved her ducks. She was the best Mother ever.

VeNita is survived by her daughters, Angie Jordan and husband Billy Jack of Lueders, TX, Deedra Lewis of Stamford, TX and one son  Ricky Freeman of Vernon, TX. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Sabrina Freeman, Ricky Freeman, Jr., Steven Freeman, Cherridy Wesley, Joshua Garza, Michelle Garza, Christin Feemster, Codi Henager,  and Amanda Jordan, along with her two brothers Roy Kent Perkins and Randy Dale Perkins, and many great and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

VeNita is preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Clara Perkins, her husband Bobby Neal Ray, brothers Donald Ray Perkins, Buddy Perkins, Larry Wade Perkins, one grandson Michael Garza and one great grandson Kobe Garza.

Visitation will be held Tuesday at noon until service time at Sullivan Funeral Home.
