Virgil Leon Lee, 63 of Vernon, Texas died on Friday, September 23, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

There will be a family private service at a later date.

Virgil was born Monday, August 31, 1959 in Floydada, Texas, he was the son of the late Sidney Lee and the late Helen Ensey Lee. He married Lisa Stokes on September 23, 1983 in Altus, OK. He had lived most of his life in in Vernon, He serviced in the US Air Force for fifteen years as an AR Plane Mechanic, fiberglass work on airplanes, after the Air Force he was a truck driver, and he worked for Vernon Fire Dept, for six years, and later at Farmers Co-Op. Virgil most of all loved spending time with his family.

Virgil is survived by his wife Lisa of the home. His son, Micheal Matthews and wife Jennifer of Vernon, TX, two daughters, Tiffany Angerer and husband Matt of Vernon, TX and Kristi Samples and boyfriend Chad of Fort Worth, TX. His five brothers, Ronnie Shugart of Vernon, TX, Randy Lee and wife Jennifer of Gig Harbor, WA, Roger Shugart and wife Dee of Dublin, TX, Larry Lee and wife Tammy of Vernon, TX, Ricky Lee and husband Brent of Gulfport, MS. Two sisters, Kathy Walker and husband Kress of Vernon, TX and Linda VanDam and husband Jeff of Holland, MI; eight grandchildren; Brett Martin, Matthew Holladay, Devon Matthews, Dylan Nava, Codee Samples, Lathen Barr, Adam Matthews, and Destiny Nava, and two great granddaughters.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Valarie Barr and two brothers Donnie Shugart, Robert Lee.
