Obituary

Virginia Nell Kieschnick, 90 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Steven Brummett officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Virginia was born Thursday, May 9, 1935, in Wilbarger County, Texas. She was the daughter of the late LD Lemon and the late Marie Bildstein Lemon. She married Willie Kieschnick on January 22, 1953. Virginia was a dedicated music teacher who taught hundreds of students in the surrounding communities. She began her musical journey at just five years old with the accordion and started teaching music at age thirteen. She enjoyed performing acrobats alongside her brother. She also taught music to all her grandchildren. Virginia was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she played the organ for fifty plus years and was over the Children's Choir. She also played the piano for the church choir, weddings, funerals, and Christmas programs. She held numerous offices in the Musicians Club and was a member of the Bell Choir.

Virginia is survived by her three sons, Larry Kieschnick & wife Jan, Trent Kieschnick & wife Janice and Devin Kieschnick & wife Sandra all of Vernon, Texas, and twelve grandchildren, Kendi Maruska, Clint Kieschnick, Kristi Olson, Brad Kieschnick, Layne Kieschnick, Beth Ann Crawford, Tanner Kieschnick, Katelyn Gardner, Landee Thorn, Dax Kieschnick, Brock Kieschnick and Dane Kieschnick. Virginia also leaves behind twenty-one great grandchildren.

Virginia is preceded in death her parents, LD & Marie Lemon, her husband, Willie Kieschnick, her brother, Lawrence Lemon, and her son, Kenneth Kieschnick.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church from 9:00 am until funeral services begin.

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church or the St. Paul Lutheran School.
