Walter Carl Taylor, 93 of Vernon, Texas died on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral service will be Monday, November 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Texas with Rev. David McDonald officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Walter was born Monday, April 30, 1928 in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the son of the late Willie Carl Taylor and the late Mary L. Grantham. He married Rachel Joyce Hickman on October 10, 1948 in Truscott, TX; she preceded him in death January 15, 2015. He was a graduate of Benjamin High School and attended Texas A & M University. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Chillicothe, Texas where he was Board President at the church. He was a rancher and farmer.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Judy Holder of Vernon, TX, brother, Felix Taylor of Crowell, TX. two grandchildren Floyd Walter Holder and wife Erica of Boerne, TX., Joyce Lynn Segraves and husband Jared of Gatesville, TX., five great grandchildren. Walter Ashby Segraves, Daci Lynn Segraves, Marin Brooke Segraves, Emily Joyce Holder and Natalie Mae Holder.

Visitation will be Sunday November 14, 2021 at 4:00 to 5:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
