Wendell Mints, 86 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 10, 2025, at 2:00pm at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Toby Castleberry officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Wendell was born Friday, November 25, 1938, in Vernon, Texas, to the late H.E. "Jack" Mints and the late Maritta Tolan Mints. Wendell was a 1957 graduate of Lockett Highschool. He then went on to graduate from Texas Tech University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science, Agriculture, Engineering and Math. Wendell married Pat Cox in Vernon, Texas on September 2, 1960, at the chapel in the First Methodist Church. Wendell was employed first with Texas Power and Light. In 1965 he moved his family back to Vernon and worked for the Murray Gin Company and Texas Farm Bureau before starting his own family's farm and ranch business. Wendell was very involved with his Vernon community including serving on the Vernon School Board for eighteen years including serving as a past president. He was also very active in the Palomino Club for thirty years and held offices throughout the years. He was a former member of the Rotary Club, Soil & Water Conservation District and the Southwest Rural Electric Board of Directors. Wendell and his family are members of the First Methodist Church, where he was a charter member of the Challenger Sunday School Class.

Wendell is survived by his wife Pat Mints of the home. Two sons, Wendy Mints and wife Amy and Randall Mints. Along with three grandchildren, Andi Gilreath and husband Graham, Claire Cooper and husband Cory and Nathan Mints. Wendell also leaves behind four great grandchildren.

Wendell is preceded in death by his three brothers, Jackie Mints, Randy Mints and James Claude Mints.
