William George Barrow (Bill), 92 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 11, 2024 at 10:00am at the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven Brummett officiating. Burial will follow at the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery in Shattuck, Ellis County OK, under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Bill was born Friday, April 29, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Sam M Barrow and the late Viola Boulton Barrow. Bill married Nancy Bond in 1986, in Wimberley. He was a graduate of Michigan State University. Bill was an artist who loved historical homes and old fashioned things. He was in the 11th Airborne Division of the U.S. Army where he made fifteen jumps.  He solo canoed across North Ontario. He enjoyed antique airplanes and building detailed models. When he lived in California, he owned and operated a Christmas tree farm and built a cabin in California. It was one of the most peaceful places to be. Later he and Nancy moved to Texas and he built another cabin in Wimberley.  Bill and Nancy attended Zion Lutheran Church.

Bill is survived by his wife Nancy of the home. One daughter, Laura Barrow Simmons and husband Scott of Fredericksburg, TX. One son, Brian Patrick Mitchell Barrow of San Marcos, TX, Bill also leaves behind his grandchildren Natalie Laura Simmons, Ashley Marie Simmons, Alex Wesley Simmons and Nick Edward Simmons.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Viola Barrow and two brothers Robert Edward Barrow and Bruce Wynn Barrow.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 10th from 6-7pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
