Willie Mae Howell, 72 of Vernon, Texas died on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

Graveside service will be Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 11:00 am at Chillicothe cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Ron Fox.

Willie Mae was born Friday, August 19, 1949 in Chillicothe, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Cross and Josie Coburn  Cross. She married Bill Howell on December 20, 1965 he preceded her in death November 26, 2002. She had lived in Chillicothe all of her life. She was a member of Western Trail Cowboy Church and she was a homemaker.

Willie Mae is survived by her  son, Roy Howell, daughters, Deborah  Rice and husband Russell of Chillicothe, TX,  Becky Hegwood and husband Rusty of Lubbock, TX, Kathy Howell of Vernon, TX, Josie Arter and husband Kenneth and Donna Davis and husband Todd, sisters, Anette Casey of Childress, TX, Ruth Holt of Chillicothe, TX and Mary Dishman of Pleasanton, TX. Eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons Bobby Howell and Billy Howell, two brothers T.J. Cross and Alfred Cross.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 7:00 to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
